Nepotism

What is this? Nepotism means preferring one’s close relatives and in-laws, e.g., when hiring. This also includes cases where someone gets a job not because of their skills but based on their party affiliations. Here the smallness of a local government can be a problem – it is hard to find jobs for people who are not related to each other. Also see Conflict of Interest.
  Example
Here is an example: A municipality hires a construction adviser who is the partner of the mother of the head of the construction department.
